Blaming ALL Feminists is baaad...

Here's a response of mine to a private message. In fairness it would be rude of me to post her missive, so I'll summarize: "Real" feminists (from the early 20th century) would vomit acid if they knew what would happen to "their" movement. The people calling themselves that today are usually vile people who hijacked a noble cause. Therefore, it's unfair to label all feminists as being the same.

Here is my response:

Well, it's "actual Feminists" tough luck then, because present day Feminists are female-supremacist manhaters, and their reputation is well earned, and will only get worse (I hope and pray)।

The ideology, and more importantly the RESULTS of the ideology, are destructive, divisive, sexist, and morally repugnant. Adherence to feminist principles has led to laws and policies which have almost completely succeeded in sundering society right down gender lines, with two-tier citizenship in all but name.

I don't care one iota if hundreds or even thousands of "good feminists" are "unfairly" slighted by inclusion. If they were such "good Feminists" they wouldn't have allowed this to happen. Failing that, they would be ACTIVELY supporting men's rights organizations, rather than submitting them to a tortuous propaganda smear job.

The proof is in the pudding, and quite frankly NONE (and I'm dead serious when I say this), absolutely none of you have shown any way in which women are actually "oppressed", and I can show inequality ENSHRINED IN LAW against men....and you say "that's justified" by Patriarchy Theory. Fair enough, I say "prove it" since all these things were done in the name of this theory.

Know what?

NONE of you ever have. Not one of you can even explain what it means beyond a vague "men are in charge" definition. None of you can show a single benefit of any importance to men as a result of societal bias, let alone socially condoned behaviour or even law. There's PLENTY of evidence of it going the other way though.

So do I think every single person who self-identifies as a Feminist deserves to be lumped in with the "extremists"?

You bet your ass I do.

  3. So how would you characterize Christina Hoff Sommers then? Clearly she thinks of herself as what she calls an "equity feminist". At the same time she has written several books which have made her reviled in the gender feminist community and was one of the first to point out the plight of boys in schools.

Personally, I think men should have written those books, and the fact that they didn't indicates that the problem isn't feminists, it's docile men who are the crux of the problem.

  10. Or, "K", it was so socially unacceptable for men to "speak out of place" that it HAD to be women saying it, or it wouldn't be listened to (or even published in the first place).

Of course, that would mean the society we live in is oppressive towards the male viewpoint, which would again point squarely to Feminism as the culprit....and we can't have that now can we?

If Ms Hoff-Summers wishes to continue to call herself a feminist, then indeed she does get tarred with the same brush. I do note, however, that she is one of those "actual feminists" that are lining up (ideologically) alongside the MRM, and largely opposing feminism.

Unfortunate choice of group to associate with though...

  15. Of course, that would mean the society we live in is oppressive towards the male viewpoint, Well Duh. But the society we live in has been oppressive to a lot of different viewpoints before this. Maybe the slaves needed Harriet Beecher Stowe to take their POV. But free educated men are quite capable of standing up for their own rights - if they had the guts to do so and the full knowledge of their true situation in western society. Which is why I've been reading your blog. At least you have some passion.

You're just not all that politically savy.

. . . which would again point squarely to Feminism as the culprit...Tree, meet forest. Feminism is a small part of a neo-marxist worldview which is responsible for all manner of censorship, not to mention language and behavior control. They've substituted race, sex and sexual orientation for class but it's the same ol tools for the implementation of power.

..and we can't have that now can we?

On the contrary. You CAN have it that way. Especially if you wish to continue an ineffective course of just baying at the moon about how rough men have it.

Or, you can wise up and use the same tools to achieve a meaningful goal.

Visualize this: a group of 50 college men, perhaps ex vets decide that it's time for the creation of a "mens study" department and a "mens center" at their college. They subsequently occupy the dean's office to forcefully put their claims. They picket "The Vigina Monologs" performance for men's rights and how the play slams men. They attend lectures by feminist speakers and make the appropriate comments and observations loudly until their demands are met or the speech is shut down.

Or, we can all just whine about how our rotten fate is the fault of the naughty "feminists".

    Your choice.

  16. Sure K, sounds good. now, how do we motivate those men to show up? Advertise? Ok, how do we raise money to fund the advertising? Where do we get the volunteers from?

What you call "braying at the moon" I call "raising awareness", or in uber-intellectual-speak..."advertising".

All the good intentions and political will in the world vaporizes in the face of public disagreement, and lacking that, public ignorance.

Unless people are mad about it (or otherwise similarly passionate), nothing will REMAIN done. Until there is a political cost to ignoring these issues (ie, public opinion), they will continue to be ignored.

How to create the political cost on a shoestring budget?

Welcome to the blogosphere, where we can "bray to the moon"....er, and sometimes other people who think likewise.

I know I'm not "politically savvy" enough to have eked out the Merovingian Star Chamber-esque TRUER nature of feminism all on my lonesome, but I know how to motivate for a desired result.

But I can IMAGINE 25 college students doing all sorts of things (and if I'm going there...they'll be female and stark naked thank you very much). What I see working is a lot of guys "braying at the moon about how shitty men have it".

It's getting attention (a hell of a lot more than an obscure court case easily "underreported" by the media), this "complaining".

Want to know if somethings working?

If a feminist says it's below us, or "stooping to feminism's level", or anything like it...you know that tactic works.

K, you might find this interesting.

These good men may have in part been motivated or inspired by people just like Factory.

We are moving on this thing. It may take some time, but how long do you really think it will be before other campuses follow U of C's lead?

There is a mass movement for Men's Rights taking shape not just in America, but all around the world.

People of all creeds, colors, and even genders are recognizing the need for a strong MRM and filling it. In the end, we WILL be victorious.

Now is the time to stand and fight, brothers. Fight, and we WILL win.

  18. 1. First comes the passion:
You got that. We need a lot more people like you, please. Your site is a start.

    2. Then comes the VISION and the DREAM.
One of many possibilities one could work towards:
Campus protests against taxpayer funded radical feminist indoctrination centers/think tanks supported by nearly every major university. Demand separate and equally funded men's studies programs which will explicitly raise men's consciousness about male oppression.

    3. Then comes the tough part, the organizing:

    Recent example:
    http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/chi-u-of-c-mens-groupmay19,0,4707353.story

Where do you think the original 60s protestors came from? From American red supported groups on campus recuiting people fed up with the draft and US wars. Be an "outside agitator", cruise the campus. It's an interesting hobby, maybe you'll pick up some babes. Give "teach ins" about divorce laws, boys getting screwed by the teacher's unions, the amount of the country's wealth in the hands of women, the number of rapes overturned by DNA evidence. The wussification of men, the feminization of the society.

Talk to the conservative newspaper writers (if the campus is lucky enough to have one). Recruit the frats. Start a club.

If there's any national men's rights groups worth the name, work to make them more powerful. Get money from donations, give money to campus recruiters to organize.

There's the path. Now where are the men who are pissed enough to do something?

  19. I am an artist by nature, a salesman by trade, and a political activist by moral compulsion.

So, I do what I hopefully do as best I can, and hope it has impact. I'm nearly 40, I don't have that kind of time anymore... it's hard enough to squeeze in the things I enjoy some days.

But I do what I can. Asking more than that is something I consider counter productive.

Why does that remind me so eerily of "peaceful Islam" and all the "good Muslims" who are given a bad name by a few "Islamists"?

  25. Editrix: Not sure what you're saying there...

Louie: After the posts you've left here, you have less than a zero chance of getting me anywhere near your show.

  26. I am saying that the "logic" in the justifications of feminism and Islam the apologists of both ideologies apply are exactly the same. As well as there is no "moderate" feminism, there is no "moderate" Islam either. And if there is, the "moderate" varieties do not have any merit whatsoever.

One can apply your statement 1:1 to Islam and it is still true:

"I don't care one iota if hundreds or even thousands of "peaceful Muslims" are "unfairly" slighted by inclusion. If they were such "peaceful Muslims" they wouldn't have allowed this to happen...

  28. Editrix: Absolutely there are parrallels. If the vast majority of Feminists (or Muslims) TRULY hated what the "extremists" are doing, those extremists would be shut down by the majority.

    Plain and simple.
